I consider "content marketing" a key element of my business which includes my product creation, blogging, articles, videos, etc. The best suggestion I can give to people is to also figure out ways to multipurpose all your content.

For example, if I'm writing a book, I may be taking sections to post as blog posts. Some of those blog posts get edited and turned into articles. Some articles may then be recorded as a video. So you get multiple use and benefit out of everything you do.

As website owners today, we are in the content publishing business.

This was probably the most important thing I did for my business in 2008. Terry Dean at http://www.TerryDean.org is the one who taught me this. This strategy has helped me to be more consistent about deliverying my coaching message and I also know - I mean really know my message because of all the time I spend develloping my content.

Do you have an editorial content calendar?
