Make some time to listen to the Get More Business Podcast where I share Blogging as a Business Strategy. Most of the information I have learned from Terry Dean’s Monthly Mentor Club.
- Get Terry Dean’s Monthly Mentor Club offline publication - he charges $19.95 month and sends out once a month. In the April Issue is the 30 Day Blog Promotion Planner. There is 11 pages of information on this concept!
- Keyword Search Tool - this link takes you directly to the tool on the site.
- Find “do follow” blogs with your key words. Make relevant, interesting comments on blogs within your market. This is great for getting backlinks - IF you don’t leave “spammy” comments.
- Do all your social bookmarking from here http://www.socialmarker.com
Here’s a great blog post on “Why Use Social Marking” (read about 1/2 way down the page for the explanation). There’s also a list of the best sites to share your bookmarks. - Just about everything you would want to know about blogging
www.Problogger.net - This is another favorite blog that I get great ideas about developing content
www.skelliwag.org
- I especially like her info on the Flickr photos

Blogging Business Strategy
April 24, 2008
Textblogg 24 april, originally uploaded by moonhouse.
Blogging is really quite a phenomenon. Anybody can be “published” internationally on the Internet with a blog - but that doesn’t guarantee you readers. What is the strategy that successful bloggers use to make money online?
Today on Get More Business Podcast we’ll be discussing a strategy that many Internet Marketers use when developing an income producing blog.
Here’s a list of some of the basic steps to get started:
Research - Before you do anything at all you need to do some research on whether or not people are shopping for what you want to offer. Terry Dean has a great report that is available for only $10 that will describe a method and several sources for researching and choosing slam dunk markets.
Secure a domain name and hosting - The host that I trust for my domain registration and reliable hosting is a company called My Small Business Website. Their prices are reasonable - less than $10 to register a domain and just under $4 a month to host - that’s less than a Mocha Frappechino from Starbucks! Their customer service is friendly and available 24/7. I almost never talk to customer service or tech support - only because I almost never have a problem! The website hosting package includes a free WordPress Blog that can be installed for you - you just need to customize and fill it with content!
Create a 30 Day Plan for creating content and promoting your blog. This is not my idea. I subscribe to Terry Dean’s Monthly Mentor Club. This monthly printed publication is a wealth of information. It’s the best $20 I spend each month.
Following are practices that you will need to do repeatedly to create an income producing blog:
- Research Long Tail Keywords for your market - this is important to get found on the Internet.
- Post comments on complimentary blogs and forums
- Write relevant blog posts - write ahead for the whole week!
- Turn your blog posts in to Articles and submit to other publishers and bloggers
- Submit your best posts to Blog Carnivals
- Write and Submit Press Releases
- Interview guests to create products and or blog posts
- Create and upload video
Your success will be in consistency. Don’t abandon Your blog! We’ll talk more about this on the show!
Click to listen to today’s show in talkshoe player or download mp3 - I give TONS of information that you can begin using immediately to create a blogging business strategy.
For a more structured training I recommend that you participate in Anik Singal and Rosalind Gardner’s Blog Classroom. Read here for more resources.

How to Choose a Profitable Niche Market
January 3, 2008
Does it always seem like others find all the profitable markets…while you’re stuck slaving away looking for a good opportunity? On January 4th, 2008, Terry Dean, Author & Marketing Coach will join me on Get More Business Podcast to discuss what he’s called a “virtually fool-proof method of chooosing slam dunk markets.”
Terry Dean is an Internet Business Coach Focused on Helping Small Business Owners Use the Internet to Earn More, Work Less, and Enjoy Life. He started his first online business way back in 1996…an eternity in Internet time.
Before he started online, he was delivering pizzas for a living at LIttle Caesar’s for $8 an hour. Using the power of the Internet, he was full-time in business online in less than 6 months. Two years later he started teaching others on how they too could use the Internet to grow an online business…whether they work from home or run a local business marketing to a local audience.
One of his most memorable moments was sharing how to profit online in front of live audiences…producing as much as $96,250 in sales from a single email to his list during a weekend conference.
His Netbreakthroughs membership site was a Whos-Who on Internet Marketing Experts and Gurus. He sold this consulting business in 2004 to take time off and now concentrates more on using his knowledge and background to coach others to success online.
Download Terry Dean’s special report for Virtually Foolproof Method of Choose Slam Dunk Markets. Here’s what you will learn in this special report:
- How to Come Up With Ideas for Markets
- Come Up With Ideas Off the Internet
- Affinity Markets or Objective Markets
- Is It Cost Effective to Reach the Target Market
- Some Markets Are Not Reachable Online
- Is There Enough Money In The Market
- What About the Competition
- Survey Your Market to Know Them
- How to Estimate Your Future Cost Per Sale With Surveys
- Survey Questions You Should Use
- Choose Your Market Eight Step System
- Choose Your Market Flowchart
I was stunned when I saw how easy it is to use tools on the internet to discover where the money is flowing - who’s buying what and where.
You can listen live on Friday at 9 am Pacific. Join in on the call with Q & A at the end of the call. If you miss the call listen in to the archived podcast.
