On becoming a “Thought Leader”

May 8, 2008

Wanna Play? by singsing_sky You cannot be a thought leader if the words you use to express yourself sound like what everyone else is saying on the subject. In the beginning “they” think you are crazy, until everyone else catches up with your pioneering thoughts -  then “they” call you a “Thought Leader”. — Melody Campbell, Inspiration Coach

Silence Fear and other Anxiety Disorder Symptoms

May 7, 2008

Fear and other strong emotions that come with it are very powerful and not to be ignored. In fact you must REFUSE to allow yourself to be afraid.

The good news is that fear begins with and can be controled by thought. You and you alone are in charge of what you think.

From Dr. Don Colbert’s book Deadly Emotions: Understand the Mind-Body-Spirit Connection That Can Heal or Destroy You it reads,

“As in the case with all intense, toxic emotions, a chemical response occurs in the brain when a person experiences severe fear. This chemical activity excites these vital brain centers in particular - (the area of the brain that controls memory and helps the brain learn and retain information)……Fear and anxiety seem to occure on the same general spectrum. Fear is a concentrated, short term bout of anxiety. It’s the acute immediate “anxious” response.

…Some fears occur repeatedly in the same environment; in other words, certain experiences or circumstances always seem to trigger fear in a person. In these cases, the fear is called a phobia…Part of the definitiobn of a phobia is that it is a crippling fear. It keeps a person from moving about in society in a normal manner.

…When a person has a sudden attack of fear, the body responds with an intense and acute stress response; adrenaline flows into the bloodstream and immediately signals the body to go onb it’s highest level of alert to fight or flee. (When) the stress response does not shut down…hormones continue to pour into the body (causing) the cardiovascular or immune system to suffer damage.”

Realize that continuing to listen to reports of bad news can fuel the fear that paralyzes - both mentally and physically!

Watch and listen to Dr. Joe Dispenza describe “emotional addition.”

Stepping out of ones comfort zone to do something different or better during this time of reported “doom and gloom” can be frightening or stressful. Read what Napoleon Hill wrote about fear:

“Fear of poverty (or recession/depression) is a state of mind, nothing else! (He also says “a state of mind is something that one assumes. It cannot be purchased. It must be created.) Fear is sufficient to destroy one’s chances of achievement in any undertaking, a truth which becomes painfully evident during any time of economic difficulty and uncertainty. Fear of poverty (or recession/depression) paralyzes the faculty of reason, destroys the faculty of imagination, kills self reliance, undermines enthusiasm, discourages initiative, leads to uncertainty of purpose, encourages procrastination, wipes out enthusiasm, and makes self control impossible. Fear takes the charm from one’s personality, destroys the possibility of accurate thinking, diverts concentration of effort, kills persistance, turns willpower into nothingness, destroys ambition, beclouds memory, and invites failure in every conceivable form. It kills love and assassinates the finer emotions of the heart, discourages friendship, invites disaster in a hundred forms, leads to sleeplessness, misery and happiness and all this despite the obvious truth that we live in a world of over-abundance of everything the heart could desire, with nothing standing between us and our desires except lack of a definite purpose and the plans that derive from it.”

It’s so important to stand guard over what goes into and what goes on inside your mind.

You may be reading this and saying “not my problem,” but because of the environment of our economy right now you will be working with, doing business with, etc. other people that are overcome by fear.

It’s important to understand what happens to ourselves and others in this state of fear. Let’s set ourselves free from fear, let’s do our part to release others from fear.

You are What You Think - Crisis Reveals the Hidden Truth!

Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards; they simply unveil them to the eyes. Silently and imperceptibly, as we wake or sleep, we grow strong or we grow weak, and at last some crisis shows us what we have become. -Bishop Westcott

Unlock Your Hidden and Rich Potential

April 26, 2008

If you are to succeed or achieve anything in this life you must first understand how your mind works.

It is important, as you seek to unlock your potential, that you realize how powerful your thoughts are.

King Solomon’s Proverb says, “As a Man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Napoleon Hill said it like this, “Thoughts are things.”

Andrew Carnagie said, “Any idea that is held in the mind, that is either feared or revered, will begin at once to clothe itself in the most convenient and appropriate physical forms available.

Everything in this world is a result of a thought. Every thing, every action, every result - came out of someone’s thoughts. When you begin to think on the enormity of this thought it might make one feel guarded for a moment. To understand that the thought you are thinking at this very moment has the power to profoundly affect the rest of your life and the lives of the people around you.

The world that we live in operates by very predictable laws. The Law of Gravity is an example that you can probably relate to easily. Gravity is a law applied to everyone in the world - with no respect to color or creed, race or religion.

In the same way the laws that govern our thoughts are as sure as gravity. Science tells us that our thoughts are energy. Energy is manifested in varying degrees of vibration. Our thoughts are vibrations that emanate from our beings and affect other humans and the material world.

Since the 1940’s science has used the EEG (electroencephalograph) to read the electrical activity of the brain; and the ECG (electrocardiograph) to trace the electrical changes which occur from heart contractions. These machines demonstrate and reveal that we do indeed vibrate.

Have you ever come into the presence of someone with a negative attitude and made the comment, “That person really gave me the creeps. He or she had bad “vibes”. ” Intuitively we on some level read the vibrations of the people around us. And, we constantly broadcast our own “vibes” to the world, all of nature, matter, and other human beings.

The vibration of our thoughts is either in harmony with the world around us or the vibrations repels the world around us. Vibrations in a similar frequency unite and become stronger - Vibrations that are moving at different frequency will neutralize or cancel each other out.

concurrent vs concentric (saturn wallpaper background)If every thing, every thought, action and result in our life is the result of our thoughts, the understanding of how this is possible by understanding that every thought we think - all day and night - is a vibratory frequency that is broadcasting continuously to the world around us.

It is extremely important that we really understand this Law of Vibration to gain a better awareness of how you can take control over your results. From this understand it takes us to the next law which is the Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction operates because of the Law of Vibration. Negative thoughts are a low vibration; and positive thoughts are a high vibration. When you are in a negative state of mind you can only harmonize with other negative vibrations; and when you are in a positive mindset, you can only resonate with positive vibrations. Thus you attract what you present state of mind is vibrating.

To compound the power of this is our memory. In an instant we can recall a story from our past and replay the entire thoughts of a particular situation and put ourselves right back in the very same state of vibration as when the story happened originally.

Your thoughts are the one thing that you CAN control. Yes, you can.

I will post again on this concept of vibration and attraction in relation to the nine environments of You. An exciting revelation will begin to unveil itself as you begin to play “thought police” and watch everything that goes in or comes out of your mouth, mind, and consciousness.

Will you take the key and unlock your hidden and rich potential?

Have you ever known someone who always seems out of time, out of energy and basically overwhelmed by life? You know the type that has a perfectly good excuse for being late, not keeping appointments or someone who is generally unprepared for just about everything.

Maybe in your own life you’ve even felt that way. It’s like your life is a juggling act and it’s up to you to keep all those colored balls in the air. Don’t drop a ball or someone who’s counting on you will suffer because of your mistake.

These feelings of overwhelm, lack of energy, not enough time and too much to do are symptoms of a life “out of integrity.” The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines integrity as “the quality or state of being complete or undivided.”

A life that is out of integrity is a life that is somehow incomplete or divided. Let me illustrate what I mean.

Picture yourself blowing air into a balloon. If the ballon is complete, then the air collecdts inside until the ballon is fully inflated or you stop blowing into the balloon. Now picture the balloon with little tiny holes. What will happen when you begin to blow the air into the balloon? It never fully inflates. All of the air that you’re blowing into the balloon leaks out the tiny holes.

Our lives can be just like the balloon. We have leaks of energy riddled throughout our lives rendering us ineffective. We create these holes or energy leaks by violating the natural laws that were designed to secure our abundant life.

Some of the things which cause us to get out of integrity or produce energy leaks:

  • living or working in a cluttered environment
  • working at a job we dislike
  • not being allowed to use our God-given talents and gifts
  • feeling as if we underpaid for the work we peform
  • being with people we dislike
  • procrastination
  • not knowing where we stand financially
  • feeling unproductive
  • feeling unappreciated
  • not eating healthy
  • neglecting to follow up on important tasks

This list could actually be much longer. There’s quite a number of things which we do because we perceive that there is no immediate consequence. However, when we surround ourselves with an environgment of multiple energy leaks we have major life changing consequences. And still, there are many individual who never make the connection between their poor habits and their falling apart life.

A life that is whole, integris, without energy leaks is a life that is in order - it’s a life that is operating in harmoney with the natural laws of an abundant life. When our life or should I say our lifestyle is in order we then are naturally more productive.

I want to invite you to explore this with me further. Here are some of the topics that we’ll explore here on this blog:

  • The five areas of our life that most often contain disorder or energy leaks.
  • What does a(n) disorderly /  orderly life look like?
  • Simple tasks to begin your journey to wholeness

These are just a few of the topics for future posts. I’d love to receive comments on this topic as you join me in this journey to a life with Integrity (wholeness - no energy leaks).

Opportunity Favors Preparation

January 2, 2008

“What we do upon some great occasion will probably depend on what we already are; and what we are will be the result of previous years of self-discipline.” H.P. Liddon

A friend of mine is a pilot. He regularly goes through training on what to do in case of an in-flight emergency. My friend has determined that he must have his subconscious mind take over when his conscious mind might be filled with anxious thoughts of the emergency at hand. For example, if an engine were to fail on his jet he knows exactly what to say to control tower and what switches to flip. He has physically and mentall rehearsed how to save his life in this emergency.

Athletes prepare both mentally and physically for their most formidable competition. That is the point of the hours of practice - building both physical and mental muscle, training actions, reactions and instincts to respons appropriately for a win.

If you’re in sales - it’s the hours of script writing and role playing, discovering all of the potential objections and preformulating responses that draw your clients in to purchase your product or service.

If you’re a doctor, a lawyer or accountant - it’s the hours of school and internship that prepares you for fieldwork.

If you would be truly successful you must begin acting and living successful before the evidence appears in your life. I work with my coaching clients about “stepping into character.”

You must prepare your mind to “be” what your intention is. What does success in your field look like? Opportunity will pass you by if you’re not prepared to “be” a player. And your instincts won’t be prepared to quickly act on opportunity when and if it does present itself to you.

This year - whatever goal you are striving to reach - prepare yourself for the fulfillment of your desire. How would you live, how would you conduct yourself when you succeed? Begin today writing that book if you would be an author, prepare for the presentation if you would be a speaker, role play your sales calls.

Prepare.

Get ready to answer the door when Opportunity knocks.

16 steps to becoming a complete LOSER

December 11, 2007

Loser_hand_2 The following are the 16 step that any “good” loser will tell you will assure your failure in any endeavor. These steps work for anyone and you need not implement them all - You too can become a loser with just a few of these steps! Master a few of your favorites and you’ll be able to fail every day of your life.

  1. Fail to recognize and to clearly define exactly what you want in life. Have absolutely no burning desire - if you do surpress it!
  2. Procrastinate! whether you need to or not. Develop alibis and excuses to cause people to pity you when you face the consequences - Love that negative attention!!
  3. Develop a complete lack of interest in acquiring specialized knowledge. After all pursuing such knowledge would take valuable time away from your “day” job.
  4. Practice indecision. Don’t make up your mind about anything to avoid being wrong or taking the blame. Pass the blame to some one else.
  5. Rely on alibis and excuses rather than wasting your valuable time actually creating definite plans as solutions to problems
  6. Focus on your self and your needs - be completly self absorbed. After all, if you don’t think about you, who will!Loser_sign
  7. 7. Whatever you do - DO NOT engage in conflict even if it is in favor of something right. Rather adopt an attitude of indifference. This readiness to compromise will keep you out of trouble.
  8. Always blame others for your mistakes, and accept unfavorable circumstances as something you can’t help or do anything about.
  9. Surpress any desire that would motivate you to action - in fact don’t spend anytime at all thinking about where you want to be in this life. Vicariously enjoy the lives of other by watching lots of television and movies.
  10. Be quick to QUIT at the first sign of possible defeat.
  11. Do not limit yourself with organized planning. Don’t commit to anything in writing so that your actions and plans can be analyzed for effectiveness.
  12. Neglect your great ideas - someone else will act on them and then you can say it was your idea first. They will succeed and you can complain!
  13. Spend lots of time wishing for the finer things in life but avoid opportunities to actually work towards your goal. You could fail if you tried and that would be awful!
  14. Never expect more than the income you are currently earning. After all “money is the root of all evil” right?
  15. If you could get rich, explore multiple opportunities to get rich quick with little or no effort. Don’t expect to actually do anything worthwhile as a contribution - just say “Gimme the Money!”
  16. Be extremely concerned about what others might think of you and what you are doing. Avoid doing things that might draw the criticism of others.

This list was adapted from Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich in the chapter on Persistence. These were originally “The 16 Symptoms of Lack of Persistence.”  After reading them I thought “this sounds like a LOSER List to me!”

May you do exactly opposite!

I’m going crazy working from home!

May 12, 2007

As seen on Yahoo Answers…

Does anyone else work from home?

I was just wondering if others here work from home and how they keep it together? 6 months ago I went from working in an office to working from home (same job) and I find myself missing the interaction with the real world. I am currently in a situation where I cannot work outside the home. So I was wondering what others do to help with the monotony? I take breaks and go for walks but then just end of feeling miserable and guilty because I should be working. How do others cope with the downside of a home business?

My Answer…

I have worked from home for over 16 years and I really love it. I have lots of interaction on the phone and through email with customers and vendors.

Here’s what I recommend:

1. Plan breaks - sounds like you may be taking “unplanned” breaks, so maybe you feel guilty because you haven’t given yourself permission. Realize that these breaks are very necessary to your optimal productivity.

2. Schedule intervals of people contact - make a phone call, go to a networking meeting, get involved in an online discussion group that will assist your work at home with information or ideas.

3. Listen to motivational cd’s or videos while you work. Depending on the level of concentration you may or may not be able to do this. If you can still get your work done while listening this is an excellent way to inspire yourself and keep you from getting bored or sleepy.

The following story is a great analogy -

There was once two men cutting wood. One man just chopped away without stopping even to eat. Finally after chopping wood all day he was done and completely exhausted.

The second man started by sharpening his ax, then he chopped for a while, then stopped to sharpen his ax. This continued until about lunch time - half way through his day. He had chopped double what the first man chopped and he was not exhausted.

The moral of the story is much more can be accomplished when you take time to sharpen your saw. It is not very productive to work yourself in to exhaustion — or bordom!

You were Born to be Rich

May 12, 2007

I have found a new source of inspiration…Yahoo Answers. I love it

Okay, here’s the question…

Looking for sales (marketing/advertising) jobs that my husband and I can do while traveling in my rv?

We both have extensive sales experience in mortgages and real estate. I also have a BS degree in education. We want to travel the country while we earn our income. Open to do Trade Shows, etc.

Most of the answers received were invites to consider various opportunties. Some of them might be just what this couple is looking for, but chances are really good that they could still be looking when the day is over.

Here’s my answer…

Let me ask you this first…

What is it that you want to do?  What are you passionate about?

Do you love managing money and financial topics? Then you might want to sell a financial services package.

Are you passionate about health topics? Then you should look for a quality health product to represent.

With your background are you passionate about the real estate or mortage topics?  You could travel and train people how to develop wealth with real estate investments.

Or because of your degree in education, is there an educational product that resonates with you?

What have you been dreaming of all your life that you have told yourself  “Someday”?

Seek your passion first. Your passion will invigorate you and propel you into situations and circumstances that fit your interpretation of success.

Any questions?  I’d love to chat.

Not that I don’t have various opportunities that I’d love to tell them about, but ultimately I want to invite them to re-discover their passion. Is there passion really sales, because that’s what they’re asking for… In our culture we’re so programed to make money first and have a purpose later; when we were really created for just the opposite.

Follow your passion and everything you need or desire will be within your grasp in abundance.

Laws of Attraction

May 6, 2007

I’m sending out this call to the Universe, “I desire to interview Bob Proctor on Get More Business Podcast.” Here’s another request, “I desire to interview Bob Doyle on Get More Business Podcast.”

I just read an essay by Bob Proctor on “Praxis.” Hmmm, never heard the word before I read it today, so I looked it up.

Praxis: Praxis is a complex activity by which individuals create culture and society, and become critically conscious human beings. Praxis comprises a cycle of action-reflection-action which is central to liberatory education. Characteristics of praxis include self-determination (as opposed to coercion), intentionality (as opposed to reaction), creativity (as opposed to homogeneity), and rationality (as opposed to chance).www.sef.org.pk/educatewebsite/educate2fol/glosiconedu2.asp

I really like that word and it’s definition. I think I will focus (and have been) on becoming more of a Praxis style parent. That is I seek to develop self-determination (as opposed to coercion), intentionality (as opposed to reaction), creativity (as opposed to homogeneity), and rationality (as opposed to chance) in my children. I am raising children that pursue their dreams, and contribute to the dreams of others; children they can live they lives they intend and they are not the victims of others poor choices; children that while they can be cooperative to create harmony, they do not become so uniform with their peers that they give up their dreams and act in ways contrary to their true values because of peer pressure; children that are thoughtful about their life choices rather than allowing chance to plot the direction of their lives.

Praxis is also my business style. My business will not seek to fit the mold of what is always been done that way, seeing to discover new ways to fill needs more creatively - not allowing my success to be determined by chance, knowing each day as I wake up what my purpose, dreams and goals are, taking action daily consistant with that knowing ever in the forefront of my thinking.
